Bullmastiff Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Peyton was adopted from us in November, 2012 as a puppy and was recently turned into BARC by his owner. Luckily, they were able to trace him back to us, so he's back. Peyton is a sweet giant goof. Peyton is a male Bull Mastiff mix. He weighs 84 lbs, but probably needs to lose about 10-12 lbs. We will update his bio once we get to know him again. PUPPIES: Young puppies that haven't had their second round of puppy shots will not be at the Adoption Center at our weekend adoption events. If you are interested in adopting a puppy, please fill out an application, and if approved, a meeting can be arranged. Also, we only adopt young puppies ... (Read More)locally due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vetted. OUT OF STATE ADOPTIONS: We do allow out-of-state adoptions for dogs, however, the adopter MUST come get the dog and bring them home with them. We do not allow our dogs to be shipped. However, we only adopt young puppies locally, due to the 4 month timeframe it takes to get them fully vaccinated. NOTE: As we believe proper healthcare of one's pet is a requirement of good ownership, K-9 Angels Rescue only adopts out dogs that have been fully vetted and altered. Urgent: This animal could be euthanized if not adopted soon.

Rescue Me ID: 15-06-16-00112Taury (female)

Bullmastiff Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Not Good w/ Other Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Aggressive, Fearful/Anxious

Taury looks like a Brindle Pit Bull Terrier, (She is a Bull Mastiff-Rottweiler/Bull Terrier) and is on the Small/Medium side. She loves people, has a tendency to lay her face on your knee for attention, and - like her Father - loves to run. If not kept in a closed dog run, on a line, or in the house, an owner will get calls from several miles away, asking them to come get their dog. Tauri is a 'Dog-Aggressive' dog, who gets along with cats and people, but does not like other dogs, at all. Taury & Her surviving siblings (Gemini, Capra, 'Clava, & Leo) were born on May 4th, 2013. At 20 days, we took them away from their mother, Shredder, due ... (Read More)to Shredder being injured. She had tried to hide under a trailer - because the pups were chasing her around the kennel trying to feed - and had torn up her underbelly on a metal screen door. Due to the location of the injury, we could not allow the pups to feed, as their claws kept reopening the stitches. As puppies learn the proper behaviors for a dog between 3 - 7 weeks from an adult, this had a negative affect on them all, most especially Taury. They were not taught to be submissive, or had their manners corrected by an adult canine; this leaves some dogs overly aggressive, and combative (something we were not aware of at the time) Taury was the only brindle of the bunch, so being different, she bore the brunt of the others moods. She was brought over to our house in Fort Worth with her sister, from the Ranch, for what was supposed to only be less than a year. She was slated to take her Mother's place as Breeder on the Ranch, so no one really 'connected' with her, knowing we would not have her for long, and that, as a guard dog, she shouldn't be overly socialized. The rancher decided to not take her back after her first heat, which is how she came to be available and not spayed when her next heat came along. Her sister, Gem, is our family dog. Her brother, Leo, and sisters, Clava and Capra, live within 5 blocks of our house, and are very social and loving. In the first week of June, our next door neighbor's twin, unfixed, female Bull Mastiffs dug under the fence, and went after Taury's 4 month old pups, born Valentines day, Taury herself, and Gem. Taury broke her line, and defended them, coming away with open tears in both ears, nose, back of head and hindquarters. Both dogs were subsequently put down. Taury was very jumpy after this attack, and less than two weeks later, after a neighborhood kid opened our gate on a prank, both she and Gem slipped their collars, and ran after them, both ending up in our front yard, where I was working. When I was able to grab Gem and re collar her, Taury attacked. My older son and I grabbed them from behind to separate them, and Taury turned on my son, striking 6 times. After getting them separate, Taury was pitiably sorry, but still aggressive towards her sister. She has since been inside with her smallest pup, who she plays with, with no issue, but we cannot take the chance that she and her sister will not go after each other. She needs to be adopted by a household that has no other dogs. She gets along with cats; our 20 lb grey tuxedo male has her cowed and submissive, and she loves people. She is a toy hoarder, and sneaky. She does not like to eat, drink, or relive herself in front of people, but when you turn your back, she has stuffed toys, and shoes all in a pile. She doesn't want to chew, she just gathers, and sleeps with them. Her favorite is a lobster. She is 80% house trained, give her a blanket, rug, or pillow, and that is her spot, and she will let you know when it is time to go out. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 15-05-17-00379Wendy (female)

Bullmastiff Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Wendy is a 65 lb 3-4 year old mastiff Mix with a big heart and she loves to give hugs, literally! She was found on the street by her foster hungry and wearing a collar which was digging in her skin. It was clear she had been used for littering puppies then released. Despite her abuse she has always had a sweet temperament and disposition, though she was shy at first. Wendy may also be shy when first coming to her new home, but when she becomes used to her surroundings she will become an enthusiastic and endearing companion. Wendy is the type of dog who will be the first to greet you at the door when you get home, and sleep by your side when ... (Read More)taking a nap. She also doesn't realize how big she is and she will jump in your lap to give you a hug or just hang out. Because of this she may also not be the best dog for small children or homes with cats. It is also probably best if she is in a single dog home. Wendy is still adjusting to living in doors and may need some patience on behalf of her new home, but she is worth the work and gives much more then you will put in. This dog is updated on shots, spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped, and heartworm tested. The adoption fee is $125. Meet our dogs! They will be available for adoption at our weekend adoption venues! To make the process more efficient, download, print, and fill out the adoption application: http://www.bustersfriends.org/dogadoptionapplication.shtml Please E-MAIL to assure the dog you are interested in will be attending the weekend event! Bullmastiff Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Before School of Wags, I was pregnant a lot and lived in the backyard of a house where a guy made money off my puppies. I wasn't happy and then one day, a rescue took 5 of my puppies and me to a safe place. They got us healthy and now, I can't have any puppies anymore - whew! What a relief. I was so tired of nursing puppies and chasing them around. Now I can enjoy life and love on people that don't want to hurt me. My name is Lolita and I am looking for my forever family. I'm half English Mastiff and half Bull Mastiff. I like to say I'm the best of both worlds. Small in stature at only 100 pounds, I am athletic and can run and play with ... (Read More)you without getting worn out like some of my larger Mastiff friends. I'm also heartworm negative which means I don't have to worry about those nasty critters. I'm spayed and UTD on my shots, even microchipped. Only thing I'm missing is my own family. I do great with kids, most dogs and most cats. I'll be honest'|if a cat comes at me and attacks me, I'll probably chase it. It's just who I am. Do I sound like someone you'd like to meet? Yea? Go to www.SchoolofWags.org and fill out the adoption application and come see me. I'm looking forward to it. Texas adopters only, please! (Less)

 Mange (Demodectic)

Clyde was rescued from Death Row in Mesquite Texas. He was listed as a Pit bull, and may well have some Pit in him, however when you meet him you'll see a big old sweet Bullmastiff in that face. He is undergoing treatments for his mange and HW's. Clyde could really use a foster home so we can get him out of boarding. He'll be available for adoption AFTER his HW treatments are completed and he's determined to be HW free.

Bullmastiff Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

From Vegas' foster: Vegas is the most loveable knucklehead I've ever been around!! An 85lb Shar Pei/Bull Mastiff mix, around 4 years old, Vegas needs a patient, strong-willed owner who understands his hard headed ways. Vegas is a dominant male with a lot of 'Mochismo!' He walks with his head high & shoulders back and everyone he comes across knows'|Vegas is The Man! Once you get to know him, he is really just a big teddy bear, who loves to cuddle and looks for your approval & satisfaction in everything he does. Vegas is full of energy and would do best with an active family or even with a 'job' of his own'|whether that's protecting a ... (Read More)property (would do best on a large property with a big perimeter to patrol) or 'managing' a shop or warehouse all day. Vegas is a great companion dog!! He was rescued at the last minute from Death Row in a Houston shelter TWICE, bounced around between temporary fosters & boarding until a spot opened up with his current foster, in November 2011, where he received the obedience training he needed. After a LOT of physical & emotional rehab, clearing up his medical issues and ongoing training, Vegas is more than ready to go to a forever home of his own. He's a dog that will bond with you deeply and never leave your side. He gets along great with people but will need to be monitored around other dominant males and very submissive or insecure females. He loves to play rough with other dogs (wrestle at a high level) so larger dogs would be ideal. He needs more stimulation (human & dog interactions, walks, play time, personal attention, etc) that his foster can currently provide. Can you give Vegas the home he deserves? (Less)

Bullmastiffs are very loyal and devoted to their families. Bullmastiffs are very protective and make good guard dogs. A Bullmastiff is a good family pet and gets along well with children, but should be supervised with little ones because of its large size. Bullmastiffs need firm masters. Bullmastiffs need attention and to be treated like part of the family; they should not be left alone. Bullmastiffs may be lazy and not enjoy exercise but need a daily walk and should not be allowed to put on too much excess weight.
