Rescue Me ID: 15-03-23-00306Rosie - SPECIAL NEEDS (female)

Bullmastiff    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

SPECIAL NEEDS 4 year old Rosie is very short-sighted - she can see perhaps up to 6 inches or so away, and can see movement at a further distance. However, it does not limit her activities much. When introduced to a new area, she goes around the perimeter, several times, and then 'knows' where things are. So, we do not move things around, and try very hard to keep cabinets closed, etc., to keep her from bumping into them. At the vet's office, she pulled hard in the direction of other pets - she is very friendly, but very strong. As long as we pay attention to her water intake, she is house-broken. She does not mind the crate for when we ... (Read More)are away for a time. Rosie is not a barker; even if our male hears a bird flying by the house and barks incessantly, she just alerts to the sound. With a slow introduction to our big male, she has become good friends with him and they are often found lying side by side, soaking up the sunshine. Rosie has had surgery to remove several growths and is healing nicely. There's a chance she might need entropion surgery and that, of course, would be covered by the organization even post-adoption. If you are good at reading between the lines, you probably know that I have fallen deeply in love with this girl, but I realize that perhaps she is here now to help me through a rough time, and may be the kind of dog that is here on earth to help anyone who needs her. Sweet Rosie is approximately four years old, spayed, up-to-date on vaccines, microchipped and HW negative. For more information please contact her foster mom at crissk1@aol.com after completing our adoption application at www.bullmastiffrescuers.org (Less)
