|Rescue Me ID: 13-12-26-00345Wilfred (male)|
Wilfred is a 1-2 year-old brindle Bullmastiff with a white chin, chest and paws. He was found starving in the woods but is gaining weight quickly in his foster home and is currently up to 95 lbs. His healthy weight is expected to be 105 lbs.+ We call him Willy at our home because my daughter said he had a strong 'Will' to live! Being a young Bullmastiff, Willy has lots of energy, is very strong, and loves to run around outside. In his temporary foster home he enjoyed running in the yard with the other dogs in his foster home. He is well-behaved inside given his young age and lack of structure in his life. He is not destructive but seeks positive attention. Once he is comfortable he preferring to settle down for a nice nap with you in the same room. He loves to have his head scratched and give kisses in return. Wilfred's a super smart boy and is housebroken, knows sit, and loves to play fetch (either with you, or bouncing a ball off steps to entertain himself). Wilfred is still working on his leash manners and has a high prey drive, so he will do best in a forever home that doesn't have cats or small dogs. Due to his size and energy level, a home without young children would also be best. Wilfred is neutered, heartworm negative, and UTD on shots. Please contact his foster mom at firstname.lastname@example.org (Less)

Bullmastiff Dogs can make good pets in New Jersey if they match your IifestyIe. The Bullmastiff is a large, powerful dog related to the English Bulldog. Bullmastiffs are very loyal and devoted to their families. Bullmastiffs are very protective and make good guard dogs. A Bullmastiff is a good family pet and gets along well with children, but should be supervised with little ones because of its large size. Bullmastiffs need firm masters. Bullmastiffs need attention and to be treated like part of the family; they should not be left alone. Bullmastiffs may be lazy and not enjoy exercise but need a daily walk and should not be allowed to put on too much excess weight. A Bullmastiff can live in an apartment if it gets enough daily exercise.
