PLEASE READ THE FULL BIO AND COMPLETE OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION at www.bullmastiffrescuers.org BEFORE CONTACTING US Ed is a playful and goofy fellow who just loves his people. He is housebroken and knows some basic obedience commands while currently learning others. Ed wants very much to please and do the right thing so he learns quickly. He loves his walks and walks nicely on a loose leash. He does get interested when he sees other people or dogs and when they are beyond leash distance, he can pass them by with just his ears pricked up. He is working on greeting others without the excited rushed that comes in the last few feet. This is more about having good manners particularly because he is a big dog. Around the house, Ed is a true gentle companion - always near and always following. If you leave for more than five minutes, when you return, he is so happy that he simply must bring you something and parade around with it in his mouth. This might be one of his toys or a bone but it also might be a shoe, remote control or water bottle. He does not chew these things and he drops them quickly enough but by the end of a busy day, there can be quite a cache scattered about the floor. If you sit down to relax and there is a space beside you, Ed may very well use his long legs and unabashedly step right up and curl next to you. This habit of getting on the furniture can certainly be changed if desired but Ed does love to snuggle. Ed loves his food and tries to be so patient at meal time but his drool gives him away. In his foster home, he eats at a food tray nearby another dog's food tray and there is no issue. Ed can be abit opportunistic with food so if there is something tempting left too close the edge of the counter and you step out of the room, he may take advantage of his height and swipe it with one swift lick. He absolutely knows not to go into an open food drawer if you are around, but if that pantry is open while you're out of sight, you might find yourself short a package of nuts or a bag of chips. Ed is currently residing with a foster family and does great with their 10-year-old and 14-year-old children. They run around the back yard and he plays alongside or is content to just be nearby sniffing around. Because Ed is a big dog with playful energy, he is probably not for a family with younger children simply because he will be too large and lively for them. Ed's foster family has another bullmastiff with whom he gets along well. He has also enjoyed the other medium and large breed dogs whom he has met. He is playful with other dogs and again, because he is big, he might be too much for smaller, meeker dogs. He has, however, learned to contain some of his playfulness as his current resident dog companion is 3-legged and cannot play as Ed would prefer. He's 4 years old, microchipped, crate-trained, vaccinated, neutered and healthy. All he needs is a home! For more info please contact his foster mom at email@example.com. His adoption fee is $400.00. 7 Month old Pitbull/mastif mix puppy. Very submissive. Needs a lot of attention and some training. Housebroken, and knows basic commands such as sit and down. Really a good dog, not your stereotypical 'Pitbull'.

Bullmastiff Dogs can make good pets in New Jersey if they match your IifestyIe. The Bullmastiff is a large, powerful dog related to the English Bulldog. Bullmastiffs are very loyal and devoted to their families. Bullmastiffs are very protective and make good guard dogs. A Bullmastiff is a good family pet and gets along well with children, but should be supervised with little ones because of its large size. Bullmastiffs need firm masters. Bullmastiffs need attention and to be treated like part of the family; they should not be left alone. Bullmastiffs may be lazy and not enjoy exercise but need a daily walk and should not be allowed to put on too much excess weight. A Bullmastiff can live in an apartment if it gets enough daily exercise.
