Rescue Me ID: 16-04-11-00095Samantha (female)

Bullmastiff    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO AND COMPLETE OUR ADOPTION APPLICATION BEFORE CONTACTING US. Born on Feb 14, 2011 Samantha would love to be your Valentine. Samantha's two previous owners didn't realize what a special Valentine gift she was. Samantha was purchased from a pet store by a woman who then left her with her ex-boyfriend. He decided he did not want her and surrendered her to Good Samaritan knowledgeable in rescue. That's how we found her. Samantha is our special Valentine but she isn't looking for diamonds, flowers or chocolate. She is looking for someone to shower her with dog treats, toys and a snuggly warm bed every day not just on ... (Read More)Valentine's Day. We are looking for a home where she will be treasured for the beautiful, wonderful companion that she is. Samantha gets along well with other animals. She might chase a cat a little bit but she is learning not to. Her previous owners did not walk this girl very much so she didn't have much leash training to speak of. We are working on that but her adopter will need to continue with the training. She is very affectionate and loves attention from people. She will pull on the leash like a freight train to meet new people. Again, some training will help this. She is not particularly fond of being in a crate but she is not destructive in the house when left loose. She is house trained. She loves belly rubs, peanut butter, apples, and car rides.%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%A0 If she sees a car door open, she heads straight for it!%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%A0She also loves inspecting what you are making for dinner! She nudges her way up to the counter and sniffs to see if you are doing a good job. She just wants to see and sniff what's for dinner. Though she just turned 5 years old, don't let the grey in her face full you. This girl can jump and spin in circles while you are preparing her food, jump into the back of a truck or onto a high bed without any trouble at all.%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%A0 She's solid and strong.%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%A0 She would not be a good candidate for someone with small children or senior citizens in the household.%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%A0Samantha is being fostered in Wisconsin and will be spayed and microchipped soon and then ready for her forever home. Our network of volunteers would be glad to help transport her to an approved forever home. Her adoption fee is $400 but that's nothing for a Valentine's gift like her. If you want Samantha's be your Valentine and give her the home she deserves, please complete our adoption application at and we will contact you. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 16-04-11-00022Neo (male)

Bullmastiff    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Very Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Blind, Heartworm Positive

Neo is a handsome 4 yr old Bullmastiff that is ready to find his very own special forever family. He is a happy dog that loves people and belly rubs. Like all mastiffs, he considers himself a lap dog and will try to crawl in your lap at every opportunity. Neo is an easy, low energy dog who enjoys basking in the sun and slow walks around the neighborhood where he can sniff every tree and bush within reach. His foster Mom says that he is the easiest foster she's ever had. Neo is dog friendly and gets along very well in his multiple medium/large dog foster home. He has even learned to share his dog bed with a pesky feline. I started ... (Read More)to write here that Neo is considered special needs. See, he's almost totally blind. But that is just a footnote in Neo's book because he doesn't care or let it slow him down one bit! He loves to be right in the middle of the action and dashes to the kitchen with the rest of the dogs in case of after dinner leftovers. He is very quick to memorize his environment and moves around his Foster Mom's house and backyard like he's been there forever. If anything, his new family will have to curb his daredevil ways because he considers himself a bit of a fearless explorer! Neo is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, crate trained, house trained and will need to continue his heart worm treatment in his new home. We highly recommend that our potential adopters fill out an online application as soon as possible, as it greatly expedites the process of finding the right dog for your situation. The adoption app is available on our website ( under the 'work with us' tab. If you choose not to fill out an application before inquiring about a particular dog, please briefly tell us about yourself, family, and lifestyle since this will help us determine if the dog you're interested in is a good match. Our dogs are available for adoption nationwide but preference is given to adopters willing to do an in-person meeting. Please understand that our dogs are not adopted on a first-come, first-serve basis, but rather we strive for a 'perfect placement' so we know that they will not be failed again. (Less)
