|Rescue Me ID: 16-04-11-00022Neo (male)|
Neo is a handsome 4 yr old Bullmastiff that is ready to find his very own special forever family. He is a happy dog that loves people and belly rubs. Like all mastiffs, he considers himself a lap dog and will try to crawl in your lap at every opportunity. Neo is an easy, low energy dog who enjoys basking in the sun and slow walks around the neighborhood where he can sniff every tree and bush within reach. His foster Mom says that he is the easiest foster she's ever had. Neo is dog friendly and gets along very well in his multiple medium/large dog foster home. He has even learned to share his dog bed with a pesky feline. I started to write here that Neo is considered special needs. See, he's almost totally blind. But that is just a footnote in Neo's book because he doesn't care or let it slow him down one bit! He loves to be right in the middle of the action and dashes to the kitchen with the rest of the dogs in case of after dinner leftovers. He is very quick to memorize his environment and moves around his Foster Mom's house and backyard like he's been there forever. If anything, his new family will have to curb his daredevil ways because he considers himself a bit of a fearless explorer! Neo is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, crate trained, house trained and will need to continue his heart worm treatment in his new home. We highly recommend that our potential adopters fill out an online application as soon as possible, as it greatly expedites the process of finding the right dog for your situation. The adoption app is available on our website (www.bullpenrescue.org) under the 'work with us' tab. If you choose not to fill out an application before inquiring about a particular dog, please briefly tell us about yourself, family, and lifestyle since this will help us determine if the dog you're interested in is a good match. Our dogs are available for adoption nationwide but preference is given to adopters willing to do an in-person meeting. Please understand that our dogs are not adopted on a first-come, first-serve basis, but rather we strive for a 'perfect placement' so we know that they will not be failed again. (Less)

Bullmastiff Dogs can make good pets in Missouri if they match your IifestyIe. The Bullmastiff is a large, powerful dog related to the English Bulldog. Bullmastiffs are very loyal and devoted to their families. Bullmastiffs are very protective and make good guard dogs. A Bullmastiff is a good family pet and gets along well with children, but should be supervised with little ones because of its large size. Bullmastiffs need firm masters. Bullmastiffs need attention and to be treated like part of the family; they should not be left alone. Bullmastiffs may be lazy and not enjoy exercise but need a daily walk and should not be allowed to put on too much excess weight. A Bullmastiff can live in an apartment if it gets enough daily exercise.
