Rescue Me ID: 14-04-21-00624Brutus (male)

Bullmastiff Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Needs Vaccinations

10 to 12 months old. English Mastiff/Great Dane cross. Previous owner was going to 'dump' the poor fella so his current owners took him in. But he is 100+ pounds and very energetic and untrained so they are having difficulty keeping him. Plus they are on limited income with 3 small children (who they are afraid to have around the dog due to his size and energy level) and they are having difficulty affording food for him, let alone proper vet care. Needs to go to a home who has experience with Danes or Mastiffs.

Bullmastiff Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

ADOPTION PENDING: Jethro Bodine is a Bullmastiff / Labrador Retriever mix. He is about 5 months old and weighs 40 plus pounds. He is going to be a really big boy. Even though he is huge, he still acts like a puppy, a very big one. He gets along well with other dogs and cats. He doesn't have children in his foster home, but he is gentle enough to be okay with older children. He could accidentally push a little one down though because of his size and puppy awkwardness. He will need some work with his house training, but he seems to be clever enough to catch on with a little instruction. He shares his food and gets along with all the ... If you are interested in adopting Jethro Bodine, please go to brantleyanimalrescuecoalition.weebly.com and fill out an adoption application and the foster parent will get back with you in a timely manner. PIease Read Before Adopting a Bullmastiff in Georgia
Bullmastiff Dogs can make good pets in Georgia if they match your IifestyIe. The Bullmastiff is a large, powerful dog related to the English Bulldog. Bullmastiffs are very loyal and devoted to their families. Bullmastiffs are very protective and make good guard dogs. A Bullmastiff is a good family pet and gets along well with children, but should be supervised with little ones because of its large size. Bullmastiffs need firm masters. Bullmastiffs need attention and to be treated like part of the family; they should not be left alone. Bullmastiffs may be lazy and not enjoy exercise but need a daily walk and should not be allowed to put on too much excess weight. A Bullmastiff can live in an apartment if it gets enough daily exercise.

The Bullmastiff was first bred to track down and catch poachers. Rather than attacking, a Bullmastiff will knock down an intruder and then pin him down. Bullmastiffs are used for police work.
